Privacy Policy

Invoice Maker stores your business, client, invoice and payment information locally on your device. We do not operate a server for this data, and it is not uploaded to us or to any third party by the app. Separately, the app sends anonymous product-analytics events - for example, that an invoice was created or an export was attempted - to PostHog, so we can understand how Invoice Maker is used; these events never include your invoice, client, business or payment content. The outside parties involved are Apple, for processing your subscription payment, PostHog, for anonymous product analytics, and whichever app or service you personally choose when you share an invoice.

The app stores the information you type into it:

• Business Profile: your business name, address, email, phone number, tax ID, logo, and payment details (bank account, IBAN, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or a payment link).
• Clients: names, company, email, structured address, phone number, tax ID and buyer reference for the clients you bill.
• Invoices and estimates: line items, quantities, rates, tax, discounts, dates, notes, payment instructions and document references.

None of this information is required to be accurate or verified by us - you are responsible for what you enter. See our Terms of Use for more on that.

All of the data above is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Invoice Maker does not use iCloud sync or any other cloud backend, and it does not transmit this data to us or to any third party. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it, unless it was previously included in a device backup you created yourself (for example, through Apple's own iCloud or Finder/iTunes backup, which we do not control).

You can also choose Save Backup in the app to create an unencrypted, human-readable JSON backup and select its destination through Apple's Files interface. Invoice Maker does not choose or control that location. Restore Backup reads a file only after you select it, and notification permission is never restored automatically.

If you add a payment link, or an IBAN and account holder name for a euro invoice, Invoice Maker generates a QR code directly on your device that encodes that information. No data is sent to a server to generate this code, and no third-party QR service is used. The QR code only contains information you have already entered into your own Business Profile.

When you export an invoice, Invoice Maker renders a PDF locally on your device and opens Apple's native share sheet. What happens next is entirely your choice - for example, sending it by Mail or Messages, saving it to Files, or AirDropping it. Invoice Maker itself does not upload the PDF anywhere or send it to us.

If you choose XRechnung export, the app creates a standalone UBL XML file locally from the structured business, client and invoice fields you entered, then opens the same native share sheet. That XML is not sent to us or validated by a remote service.

If you choose ZUGFeRD export, the app creates a PDF/A-3b document locally and embeds the structured EN 16931 invoice XML as factur-x.xml. No backend or external invoice service receives or processes it.

Invoice Maker offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (Monthly and Yearly) through Apple's In-App Purchase, handled entirely by StoreKit. We never see or store your payment card details - Apple processes the transaction and tells the app, via cryptographically verified transaction data, whether you have an active subscription. Invoice Maker uses PostHog to understand how the app is used and to improve the product. PostHog receives anonymous product-usage events, such as when the app is opened, an invoice is started or completed, a preview is viewed, an export is attempted, or the subscription and paywall flow is used. A small number of non-identifying properties may be attached to these events - for example, an invoice's currency code, its item count, whether tax, a discount, payment details or a QR code were used, the subscription plan selected, or which paywall variant was shown.

We do not send the content of your invoices, client details, business details, payment information, invoice notes, line-item names or descriptions, invoice numbers, QR payloads, PDFs or screenshots to PostHog - only the anonymous event names and properties described above.

Invoice Maker does not use session replay, screen recording, or PostHog's automatic click/screen-view capture. These events are not used for advertising, and there is no cross-app or cross-company tracking. Invoice Maker has no account or login, and we do not identify you by name, email address or any other personal identifier - PostHog only sees an anonymous, on-device identifier and never creates a linked user profile for it. PostHog does not receive your IP address, and we have disabled IP-based location detection for this data.

Analytics data is processed using PostHog's EU infrastructure. See PostHog's own Privacy Policy for how PostHog itself handles this data.

If you add a business logo, Invoice Maker uses Apple's system photo picker. This picker runs outside the app and only hands the app the specific image you select - Invoice Maker never receives broader access to your photo library.

Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete individual invoices or clients yourself inside the app. Deleting Invoice Maker from your device removes its local data. Because we do not hold a copy of your data on any server, we have no separate copy to delete on request - deleting the app is the complete deletion.

Invoice Maker is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
